Allow Mike to to be your "Personal Realtor" & help you discover ...

Halfmoon Bay
The Sunshine Coast allows for a more peaceful, less paced lifestyle, with a wealth of opportunities for recreation.   With over 56,000 hectares of parks across the District and with the availability of affordable Real Estate, in close proximity to Vancouver, British Columbia, the Sunshine Coast is becoming an increasingly popular retirement destination.

The Sunshine Coast is only 90 minutes from Vancouver and has the lowest benchmark Real Estate price in the Greater Vancouver area.
Ferry

BC Ferries Langdale ferry runs every 2 hours from Horseshoe Bay, on the Lower Mainland, to Langdale, a 40 minute sailing across the beautiful Howe Sound.  Current Conditions provides live camera feeds from the Ferry Terminals.  From there, Highway 101 is the main artery that travels the coast.

If you are considering commuting from the Sunshine Coast to work in Vancouver, you're not alone.  There are now 4 Commuter Vans that actually board the Langdale Ferry, Monday - Friday, offering commuters the option of door-to-door service, between work & home.  These vans pickup commuters, drive onto the ferry & drop you off at work.  There are a number of other pooling options available.  For details, see Van Pools.

The main population centres of the Sunshine Coast Regional District are Gibsons and Sechelt, the land between two waters.  The Sechelt District population is approximately 8,500.
 Molly's
Gibsons is the home of The Beachcombers, the longest running TV drama in Canadian history.

Building on its rich heritage and history, Gibsons is in the process of re-defining itself, through the consolidation of the surrounding areas in what is called the Gibsons Economic Development Partnership.  The Town of Gibsons has a population of over 4,000.

The main economic activity in the area is logging, pulp and paper, tourism and retirement related services.  Retail, Construction & Manufacturing are the leading industries, by Mountainsemployment in 2001.  Tourism is the 3rd largest private sector contributor, after forestry and fishing.

The Sunshine Coast offers a wide variety of accommodation.  There is a vast array of Bed and Breakfasts, or you can also try the B&B Association.

There are 10 Elementary and 4 High Schools in School District #46 on the lower Sunshine Coast.

The Sunshine Coast fosters a diverse artistic culture including Canada's longest running summer gathering of Canadian writers and readers, the Sunshine Coast Festival of the Written Arts.
